A Walk for the Water
Indigenous women walk for the spirit and health of the Potomac River
The Potomac River Water Walk was a 13-day relay and Native American ritual that began on Oct. 7, 2016, in Fairfax Stone, W. Va. The water was carried on foot the full length of the Potomac River and poured into the Chesapeake Bay at Point Lookout State Park in St. Mary's County, Md., on Oct. 18, 2016.
