Purpose
June 2019 Sustainable Fisheries Goal Implementation Team Biannual Meeting We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Sustainable Fisheries Goal Implementation Team (GIT) June 2019 Biannual Meeting on June 26-27, 2019 in Cambridge, MD. Materials will be available here before and after the meeting. The draft agenda is subject to change. Content: Agenda for Day 1 will focus on blue crab, including Winter Dredge Survey results and approval of the 2019 Advisory Report, fish habitat update on ongoing assessments, funded habitat research projects, and discussion of water column habitat modeling. Day 2 will include OysterFutures and an oyster hatchery tour, funded forage research projects, and a discussion of 2019 GIT funding. Logistics: The meeting will take place at UMCES Horn Point Lab Oyster Hatchery, 2020 Horns Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. When you arrive, parking is available in the solar lot on the left side of the driveway entrance, overflow in the grass as needed. The meeting will take place in the main hatchery building - look for the metal rockfish sculpture inside. Plan to stick around for the hatchery tour on Day 2! A hotel block has been arranged at Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge, 2715 Ocean Gateway, Cambridge, MD 21613. To secure a space, please make your reservation before June 10 directly through the Holiday Inn website. Use the group code "STF" for Sustainable Fisheries. Room rates are held at $111 + tax until Monday, June 10, so please make your reservation before then if you do not plan to commute. It's busy season for tourism, so take advantage of the room block early! Lunch will be provided for participants on both days, given your RSVP. Please confirm which days you will need lunch and alert us if you have any dietary restrictions no later than Friday, June 14. We will order a mix of sandwich options based on numbers confirmed.Location
