This MOU provides for enhanced cooperation between the US Department of the Interior, National Park Service's (NPS) Mid-Atlantic and National Capital Regional Offices and the US Environmental Protection Agency Region III (EPA) Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP). This agreement is established for the purpose of facilitating the exchange of information between agencies and to heighten the awareness and cooperation of the individual activities of the Federal and state agencies responsible for the implementation of the 1987 Chesapeake Bay Agreement.

This document sharpens the focus of the EPA and the USDA to carry out activities to help Chesapeake Bay Program partners meet their nutrient reduction goals. EPA and USDA commit to using their complementary authorities and programs to work cooperatively on nutrient reduction activities in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Responsibilities for both agencies are explicitly defined.

Resolution to Enhance the Role of the United States Department of Agriculture in the Chesapeake Bay Partnership

This resolution urges the Secretary of Agriculture to make the Chesapeake Bay Watershed a priority objective by heightening coordination efforts with other Federal departments and agencies in order to leverage resources available from Federal programs, such as the Farm Bill, the private sector and the States and that they will utilize, where appropriate, the experience of the Chesapeake Bay Program as Farm Bill rules are developed for programs included in Title 2: Conservation; Title 7: Research; Title 8: Forestry; and Title 9: Energy.

Memorandum of Agreement on Little Falls Dam Fish Passage

This Memorandum of Agreement establishes a general framework for cooperation and participation among the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, the Government of the District of Columbia, the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin, the Potomac River Fisheries Commission, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Biological Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, and Montgomery County, Maryland, in reestablishing migratory and anadromous fish access and restoring a migratory fish population in an historic spawning habitat upstream of Little Falls Dam on the Potomac River in Montgomery County, Maryland.
