Auston has joined the EPA as a Life Scientist working on the Chesapeake Assessment Scenario (CAST) model and supporting jurisdictions with insight on how to reduce pollution reaching the Chesapeake Bay. Prior to joining the EPA, Auston worked as a project management associate, invasive species management specialist, and an assistant land steward for environmental organizations across the Southeast. Auston obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Urban-Environmental Studies from Birmingham-Southern College and Master's Degree in Water Resource Management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. Auston lives in Washington D.C. and in his free time enjoys being near the water, observing wildlife, backpacking, and reading.
